NOTICE OF ZONING VIOLATION

Conditions exist on the indicated property which constitute a violation of the following section(s)
of the Orono Zoning Ordinance:
X SECTION 9.50. JUNK CARS, FURNITURE,HOIISEHOLD FURNISHINGS AND
APPLIANCES STORED ONPUBLIC OR PRIVATE PROPERTY.
It is unlawful to park or store any unlicenced,unre�istered or inoperable motor vehicle lacking essential parts,
household furnishings or appliances,or parts or components thereof,on any property,public or private,unless
housed within a lawfully erected building. Any violation ofthis Section is declared to be a nuisance and upon
seven days written notice to the owner,as sho�vn by the records in the office of the County Auditor,of private
premises on which such material is found,the City may remove the same and certify the cost of such removal
as any other special assessment. For the purpose of this Section,an inoperable motor vehicle shall be defined
as lacking,including but not limited tq parts essential to operation,such parts being wheels,tires,motor,drive
train,battery,or having two or more flat tires,or having the interior, including the driver's position,used for
storage in such a manner that no person can operate the vehicle.

SECTION 9.55. MAINTENANCE OF PRIVATE PROPERTY.
SUBD. 1. It is the duty of the owner of every vacant property and the owner and occupant of every occupied
property to maintain same in a neat,clean and presentable manner free of any junk,debris,refuse,litter,dead
trees, or noxious weeds,and to remove all other public health or safety hazards therefrom.
SUBD. 2. GTass a11d WeeCls. The owner or occupant of every lot or parcel shall regularly
cut or otherwise maintain all grass and weeds thereon at a height of not more than six(6) inches.
SUBD.3. Any violation of this section is declared to be a nuisance and public safety and welfare hazard and
upon seven days written notice to the owner, as shown by the records of the office of the County Auditor,of
private premises on which such material is found or any conditions in violation of this code section exist,the
City may remove the same or correct any conditions in violation, and certify the cost of such removals or
corrections as any other special assessment.
Please take action to comply with the above ordinance requirement(s) by Julv 3, 2003
A follow-up inspection will be made at that time to verify compliance.

� Dear Mr. Hagedorn:
I am writing in regards to complaints this office has received concerning your property,
tax parcel numberl7-117-23-43-0005. Staff inspected on April 13, 2007 and
substantiated the complaint of junk and refuse on the property. It appears that you have
allowed the household garbage to pile up over the winter: The property needs to be
cleaned up by May 6, 2007.
I have enclosed information re�arding the spring cleanup days being sponsored by the
City of Orono and Hennepin County. I would talce advantabe of these programs since the
City of Orono charges a reduced fee and Hennepin County's collection is free.

Dear Mr. Hagedorn:
I am writing in regards to complaints this office has received concerning your property,
tax parcel numberl7-117-23-43-0005. Staff inspected on May 15, 2007 and
substantiated the fact that junk and refuse still exist on the property. I will have the
property abated by a private company on May 31, 2007. The fees for the abatement and
City Staff time will be billed to you. If you fail to pay the bill it will be assessed to your
taxes with the appropriate fees and penalties.
I have enclosed a copy of Section 58-1 of the Orono Zoning Ordinance, this is the section
currently being violated. You may appeal this decision to City Council within 10 days. If
you have any questions, please feel free to call.

property abated by a private company on May 31, 2007. The fees for the abatement and

taxes with the appropriate fees and penalties.
I have enclosed a copy of Section 58-1 of the Orono Zoning Ordinance, this is the section
currently being violated. You may appeal this decision to City Council within 10 days. If
