Hello, Chris asked me to respond to your inquiry about a shed.The requirements are as follows.
10'to the rear property line
10'to the side property line
10'to other buildings
15%of the lot can be covered with structures
25%of the lot can be covered with impervious surfaces
A permit is required.Typically an updated survey is required to show the setbacks, structural coverage and hardcover.
However for a 10X 10 shed if you draw the shed on the existing survey in the proposed location and provide hard cover
calculations on the enclosed form we will try to wave the survey requirement. Staff will need to visit the site to verify the
calculations and you will need to find the lot corner pins and staff will need to conform the location. If you have any

Subject: Regulations for building a shed
Ms. Mattson,
My husband and I ordered a 10 x 10 shed to put in the south west corner of our backyard. We wanted to know
if there are any restrictions on that. How much clearance do we need to have from the property lines?Any
other restrictions?
