City code requires all boats on lakeshore lots to be stored in the side yard, street yard or lakeshore yard. The boat must be at least 5 feet from the property line and 15 feet from any neighboring house. Your boat does not meet the required setback from the road. It is a safety issue for neighboring properties for site lines entering and exiting their driveways. Please move the boat to an allowable location by December 3, 2001. If you have any questions please call the number listed above. Sincerely, Matt Bolterman Inspector Telephone(952)249-4600 • Fax(952)249-4616 www.ci.orono.mn.us To: Street File - 3345 Crystal Bay Rd From: Matt Bolterman, On-Site Systems Manager Subject: Boat Storage Date: November 26, 2001 This memo is regarding boat storage on 3345 Crystal Bay Rd. We received a call from a neighboring property owner about the boat stored at this property. He stated that he had some site problems backing out of his driveway onto crystal bay rd. The problem lies with the boat being to close to the road. He had no problems with the boat blocking his view of the lake. I visited the neighboring properties on November 26 and concluded that the site lines were not obstructed from the boat. The speed limit is set at 15 mph on this road so speed is not a factor with oncoming traffic. The boat is also at least 5 feet from all property lines and approx. 7-9 feet from the road so it should not be a concern for the snowplows. I let the property owner know that his boat could stay at the current location unless future problems develop.
