Re: Apparent violation of llistrict rules
Dear Mr. Siakel:
We have received information that you have recently installed rip rap shoreline erosion protection
along your shoreline. Enclosed plcase find a copy of the District rules. Rule F - Shoreline
Improvement specifies that no person shall construct a shoreline improvement to prevent erosion
such as rip rap without first securing a permit from the District. Accordingly you are hereby
notified that the installation of this rip rap is in violation of District Rule F.
You are required to submit to the District an "after the fact" permit application for work performed.
The required exhibits are listed in the District Rules. The information must be submitted to the
District within 10 days of receipt of this letter. This matter will be reviewed at the next meeting of
the Camplaints/Violations Committee.
Please note further that under Rule J of the District Rules, any person who performs any work for
which a permit is required under these rules without having obtained a permit from the District,
shall pay to the District a fee equal to the District's actual costs of field inspection of the work,
including investigation of the area affected by the work, analysis of the work and any subsequent
monitoring of the work.
