Dear Mr. Winter:
It has come to the attention of this department that you are
operating a business (Brightway Carpet Cl.eaning) out of your home
at 265 Crestview Avenue.
This Ietter is to inform you that home occupations are
r�guZated by Orono Municipal Code Sections 5.40 and 10.20 ,
Subdivision 4 (C) and that you must cease this operation or apply
for a home occupation license (if you feel you meet the require-
ments ) before January 2, 1990. If this deadline is not met the
City may issue citations.

SIIBJECT: Unlicensed Home Occupation at
265 Crestview Avenue
A Minnetonka resident called to complain about the treatment she
had received over the telephone from a person who initially
identified herself as Crystal from Brightway Carpet Cleaning.
The person called declined the sales pitch for carpet cleaning
and hung up the phone. Shortly thereafter the phone rang and
when answered the calling party stated "Don't hang up on me you
Bitch" .
In the telephone book Brightway Carpet Cleaning is listed at 265
Crestview Avenue. Telephone 473-4115.
I have checked the street file and there is no record of a home
occupation license at this address.
Lt. Gary Cheswick stated that the person making the complaint
would have to notify the Minnetonka Police about the phone call
and the City of Orono could seek possible zoning violations.
I have given this information to the Minnetonka resident.
