Dear Mr. & Mrs. Gross:
I am writing in regards to the sport court that you have built on the above described
property. This office has received a complaint concerning the lighting of the sport court.
The City of Orono requires that the lighting be shielded from neighboring properties at
the lot line. The arrangement of the lighting for your sport court appears to have the
potential for greatly impacting the neighboring property.
Please make the necessary changes to shield the lighting or re-direct the light so that it
effects only your property. This should be done as soon as possible since the season to
be using the sport court is quickly coming upon us. If there are additional complaints
received by the City then the City Attorney will be consulted as to potential legal action
to resolve the situation. I have enclosed the City Ordinance on lighting and an
infoimational pamphlet called"Good Neighbor Outdoor Lighting".
