Dear Mr. Shaughnessy:
An inspection of your septic system«as conducted on August 8, 2000. A stunmary of the inspection
is below.
Septic Tank CondiHon
1. Pumpout needed within one year(last pumpout 8/12/94)
The septic system is non-compliant due to a lack of a three foot separation distance betveen the bottom
of the drainfield to the seasonallyhigh R atertable. The three foot requirement is a State Code, not a City
Code. A soil boring as conducted to determine the depth of the seasonally watertable. The septic
system must be replaced by December 31, 2010.
Enclosed is a list of state licensed sepric contractors who vork in Orono on a reular basis. Also
enclosed is a fact sheet etplaininho« a septic system functions properly. Finally, an as-built draving
is enclosed that shows the approtiimate location of the septic system.
If 5ou have any questions regardinthis report, please contact me at the City Offices at 249-4600.

The separation is 0.8 feet and the system is non-compliant. Repair or replacement of the septic
system is required by 12/31/2008.
