Dear Mr. and Mrs. Franchot,
This letter is to confirm our conversation of June 13, 2005. The garage support post is
bowed. The size of the post is adequate to carry to load placed on it, however the post
used has many knots that reduce its strength. I would suggest replacing the post with a
better piece of material or switch to a steel post. Please feel free to contact me at my
