Dear Mr. Grahm:
It has come to my attention that an elderly gentleman in our community is in need of some
assistance. Robert Sorensen is 79 years old, in good health and is trying hard to provide for
himself and not be a burden on anyone. He has a very limited social security income that he
supplements by gardening and selling the produce at a local market. However, his home has
become severely dilapidated and is a hazard to his health. He has a large hole in the roof and
a water heater that needs to be lighted when he needs hot water. He is also worried about his
furnace. These are only some of the problems he has.
I feel these problems pose a hazard to his health and would appreciate any help you could
provide. Mr. Sorensen will be calling you if you have not heard from him already. If you have
