Dear Melanie:
We have reviewed the retaining wall plan for 2933 Casco Point Road. The plan shows
the replacement of wood retaining walls with segmental concrete block walls. We have
the following comments with regards to engineering matters:
• It is our understanding that the existing wood retaining walls will be replaced
with segmental block walls in the same approximate locations and heights.
• The applicant has submitted engineered retaining wall design information that
covers single block walls up to five feet and height and tiered five-foot high walls
with a combined height of 10 feet. These design heights are consistent with the
site.
• This project will disturbs more than 10 CY of material within the shore setback
zone. Sediment and erosion control information meeting the requirements of
Orono's City Code 79-7(c)(1) must be submitted. The minimum $2000 sediment
and erosion control financial security should be required of the applicant for this
permit.

The City is in receipt of a building permit from Botanize Inc for retaining walls and stars at your property 2933 Casco
Point Road. As you have just received a building permit for construction of the new residence and submitted an escrow
of$2500 I have drafted a revised escrow agreement to encompass the construction of the home as well as the retaining
wall project. This will avoid you having to submit an additional check.
Please print out this new escrow agreement, sign it and return it to the City. If I am not here please ask that it be given
to me.
