The plan shows the replacement of wood retaining walls with segmental concrete block walls. We have the following comments with regards to engineering matters: • It is our understanding that the existing wood retaining walls will be replaced with segmental block walls in the same approximate locations and heights. • The applicant has submitted engineered retaining wall design information that covers single block walls up to five feet and height and tiered five-foot high walls with a combined height of 10 feet. These design heights are consistent with the site. • This project will disturbs more than 10 CY of material within the shore setback zone. Sediment and erosion control information meeting the requirements of Orono's City Code 79-7(c)(1) must be submitted.
