Re: Illegal structures in lake shore yard
Mr. Powell,
While investigating a complaint on a neighbor's property regarding an illegal lake shore structure, city
staff noted there are two illegal structures on your property. Upon review of your property file it was
found that in 1987 the city council reviewed the status of boat ramps and covers on the lake shore.
Property owners were directed to remove the structures, prove the structure was in existence prior to
the adoption of lake shore standards in 1975, or file an application for a variance.
It appears these directions were not followed. Based the current complaint the city has no choice but to
address the issue again. A deadline of November 17, 2014 has been established for removal of the
structures, proof of existence prior to January 1, 1975 or receipt of a variance application.
