The bottom retaining wall on the south side of the boathouse is listed as 4 ft. If it ends up higher than 4 feet it will require and engineered plan. 2. Erosion control measures were not depicted on either the survey or the plan. That shouldn't be a problem. I think we can best handle this with a revised drawing, noting the wall will be replaced, similar to the notation employed with the upper wall "to be replaced with anchor block". We will attach this new drawing to your permit,to document the changes. The downside:The permit won't be closed out until all of the work is done, so the escrow wouldn't be returned for a bit if we took this path. An alternative is to finish this permit, then get another one,when you are ready to perform the work(you may want to do something. The survey wouldn't be that old,so updating it shouldn't be too expensive, and a like for like replacement should be approved relatively quickly. Ok, so I can't believe I am even asking this, but...what(if even possible) would it require to modify the permit so we can repair/replace the few retaining walls that we had originally planned as leaving as is, with an expectation to fix at a future date? It would be just a switch out the materials, similar to the rest, where replacing old, crumbling walls? It would be completely like for like so no modifications to slope, etc and adjacent to tear up area so minimal impact,just reflecting as this project is underway now(though slow going) and am realizing I should have just tried to figure out how to do this all at once so I don't need to worry about it again over the next couple of years.
