I have reviewed the application for the proposed rain garden and have the following comments:
• The resolution for the property states they need to provide adequate infiltration for the area of hardcover equal
to the size of the driveway. Their driveway is currently about 4800 SF in size and it was supposed to infiltrate
the first%" of rain (200 Cubic Feet of water). The length of the driveway and topography do not allow drainage
of the entire driveway into the proposed rain garden and instead can direct driveway and roof drainage of 3600
SF of hardcover. Therefore I requested and the applicant oversized the rain garden so it can handle a larger rain
event (0.77" rainfall) and treat a larger quantity of water(232 Cubic Feet of water) than what was originally
requested in the resolution.
• What they are proposing for the rain garden will sufficiently treat an equivalent quantity of water and is
acceptable.
