RE: After-the-fact deck permit for 3034 Casco Point Road
Dear Mr. Barr:
We have received your application for a permit for the deck
constructed on your property. The drawings indicate a 14' 6" by
15 ' 6 " deck , or 225 square feet. In 1989 your variance
application ( #1316 ) to bui ld a detached garage shows a 12' x 16'
or 192 square foot deck. The original house plans also show a
12' x 16' deck.
Since a deck is considered hardcover, there appears to be two
options for approval of your application:
1. Submit a new hardcover calculation showing existing
hardcover and reductions proposed to keep hardcover
under 25� coverage as required in 75 ' -250 ' zone.
2. Reduce new deck to 192 square feet to maintain 24.51� .

Re: Deck Construction Without Building Permit
Dear Mr. Barr:
It has come to the attention of this Department that you
have recently reconstructed a deck on your property at 3034 Casco
Point Road.
This letter is to inform you that a building permit is
required for building decks in the City of Orono. Please return
the enclosed permit application with the required submittals
before January 21, 1991. If you have any questions or if you
have a problem meeting this deadline, please feel free to contact
