� RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL .

A RESOLOTION AUTIEiORIZING EXECUTION OF
LETTI3R OF INTENT AND JOINT POWFRS AGREEMENT
WITH HENNEPIN COONTY
WHEREAS , the C_ity of Orono is a duly constitued
municipality under Chapter 412 Minnesota Statutes with its own
police department; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hennepin is a duly constitued
county under Chapter 873 and provides law enforcement services in
accordance with Minnesota Statutes; and
,
WHEREAS, the City of Orono has need on a temporary basis
for one patrol officer not to exceed four (4) months starting 1,
• September 1985; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hennepin is able to supply such a
qualified officer under a joint powers arrangement as provided
' for in Minnesota Statute 436.05 under the conditions outlined in
attachment of the letter of intent dated August 22, 1985; and
WHERBAS, the letter of intent provides the basis for
initiating such services.
NOW, THSREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Counci 1 of
the City of Orono that it desires such services under the terms
outlined in the letter of intent dated August 22, 1985, and
hereby resolves to enter into the needed joint powers agreement
under these terms and,
FURTH$R RSSOLVED, that its Administrator and Police
Chief may jointly execute the appropriate letter of intent and
joint powers agreement in line with the conditions of the letter
of intent.
Adopted by the Orono City Council on this 26th day of
August, 1985.
