RE: Proposed Storage Shed
Dear Mr. Buller:
The Building and Zoning Department is in receipt of your
application for a building permit, which was received by this
office on June 27, 1989. Although your application was somewhat
incomplete (hardcover calculation was not submitted), I took the
opportunity on July 17th to review the property and complete a
hardcover calculation. I was pleased to find that your proposal
meets the hardcover limitations of the Zoning Code, hence no
hardcover variance is required (this is unusual for property on
Casco Point Road! ). I was also pleased to see that the existing
garage that is partially within the right-of-way and in
relatively poor condition, is proposed to be removed. This will
be a benefit to the neighborhood in general , as well as your
property.
In reviewing your proposed location for the new storage
shed, we do have a slight problem. The 12' x 16' storage shed is
not considered as a garage, and technically must meet the code
requirements of a 30' minimum setback from the street property
line, a 10' side lot line setback and must be 10' from all other
buildings (or attached to other buildings, if you wish) .
A building permit could be issued for the storage shed
located as shown on the attached sketch.
