' A RESOLOTION REQOESTING A VARIAAiCE
• FROM CURREAIT MUNICIPAL STATE AID STANDARDS
A resolution of the City of Orono, Hennepin County,
Minnesota requesting a� variance from current Municipal State ,Aid
Stan�ards. �
WH�RSAS, Municipal State Aid street 101 (Willow Drive) was
constructed with a vertical alignment which provides for a 3P1 MPH
design speed on the Hill Crests @ 45+4f6 and 58+22 .
WHEREAS, reconstruction of the present roadway� to correct
the vertical alignment would not be in t'ne best interests of t'ne City
because extensive work would be required wit'n no significant benefit.
WH$R�AS, the verticalalignment problem can be mitigated by
propPrly signing the street segments for a 3fd MPH speed limit.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Orono, Hennepin County, Minnesota that the City Consulting
Engineer is authorized to request a variance to Municip�l State Aid
Standard 14MCAR Section 1.5�132, 8SR 2146, 882fQ.991P! (Rural Undivided �
�eometric Standards) for 'MSAP 152-1011-Ql8.
The question was on the adoption of the resolution and upon a
vot�e being duly taken thereon, the following voted in favor t'ne.reof:
Mayor Butler, Couricilmembers Adams, Grabek and ,Hammerel
The following voted against sam�:

WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and
adopted this 15 day of October, 1984.
