Dear Ms. Mattson:
This is in response to your letter of June 10. Enclosed please find the after-
the-fact permit application and $100 permit fee for a small lakeside patio we had
installed on our property. Sorry for any confusion about that.
We have also enclosed two copies of the large as-built survey/hardcover
calculations prepared by Otto Associates,the engineers and land surveyors who
completed the survey of our property. And I have enclosed one copy of the smaller
8.5"x 11" as-built survey- I will also send you,via email,a digital copy of the same
document.
The hardcover calculations are included on the new survey. Our current
hardcover is 3,979 ft2-this is less than the 4,069 ftz the City approved in Resolution
6078.
We hope this permit can be approved in the near future,and that our$2,500
escrow fee can be returned at that time.

RE: Zoning Permit Number 2013-01096
We received an as-built survey dated 4/30/14, but no as-built hardcover calculations were
submitted as required. A copy of the issued permit is enclosed along with a partial copy of the
as-built survey submitted. After a site visit by staff and review of the original approved plan
(copy enclosed), we observed a paver patio which was installed lakeward of the screen porch.
This patio was not permitted as part of this permit.
To resolve this you have the option of removing the patio or submitting an after-the-fact zoning
permit application for the patio with hardcover calculations by June 24, 2014. A zoning permit
application is enclosed. An after-the-fact, double fee is required. Please note hardcover may
not exceed 26.6% or 4,069 square feet according to Resolution 6078.
We will continue to hold your $2,500 until this issue is resolved. If you have any questions,
please don't hesitate to contact me.

Re: Request for Return of Escrow
Dear Ms. Mattson:
Enclosed are large scaled copies, as well as an 8 '/�" x 11" copy, of a survey completed by
Otto Associates following landscaping work done on our property last Fall. Much of the on-
scene measurements were taken in December 2013, but due to snow fall at that time, some of the
detail was not possible until the Spring snow melt.
We paid a $2,500 escrow on October 17, 2013 (check 5312) to cover erosion control and
engineering review costs. I do not believe the City has incurred any such expenses. If that is
correct, we would appreciate having oti�r escrow returne�,
