We have the following comments with regards to engineering matters: • Grading in the proposed retaining wall and fill area will be minimal and appears acceptable. • The applicant should take note that it appears that a number of significant trees may be located in the fill area. • See attached comments from Matt Jensen regarding the retaining wall. The submittal information is as follows: Owner: Banks Residence Wall Design Engineer: Civil Solutions Group, LLC Certificate of Survey: Anderson Engineering of Minnesota, LLC certified October 16, 2007 Retaining Wall Submittal: October 16, 2007 w/wall specification and section Date Received: October 31, 2007 This is a privately owned retaining wall which is an extension from the existing retaining wall on the property. We have reviewetl the design submittal for conformance with the International Building Code. The Civil Solutions wall submittal has provided factors of safety for overturning antl sliding for the retaining wall design. No geotechnical information was provided for the design, but the tlesign engineer assumed the foundation soil to be sandy lean clay with a bearing capacity of 2000 psf. Summary of Comments: • The retaining wall is in conformance with the International Building Code and was signed by a Professional Engineer. .
