Dear Ms Steil and Mr. Schultze:
Yesterday I received a call from Mark Gronberg's office concerning the appropriate setbacks for
a detached garage for your property. To answer the question I pulled the master file for your
property. I noticed that your property has city sewer available to it and a deadline of December
31, 2007 for connecting to it.
Willie Gibbs, septic inspector, indicates that a permit to hook up to sewer must be issued before
or simultaneously with the permit for the garage. This requirement comes from DNR Shoreland
regulations as your property is within a shoreland district and has sewer available. The sewer
connection must be done by a licensed contractor and the Sewer Availability Charge (SAC) must
be paid before the permit can be issued. If you have questions about this, contact the inspector at
