Co . , MN I This site has an existing Pressurized Mo nd System for a 3BR home . The system will be increased for a SBR h me . The mound will be added to at each end o the rock bed . The existing mound will need the topsoil rem ved to the washed sand with a backhoe with no travel on the mou d. The tank capacity will require an additional 1000 gallon h lding tank. The pumping chamber is a 1000 gallon capacity which eets City code for minimum capacity. Recommend to reshape and dive t the run off away fom the pumping chamber . The future expansion is on 7o to 90 slope & will need approval by the City Official . The soi7.. at a depth of 12" have a perc lation rate averaging 2 . 9 min/inch. Al1 neighboring wells are located great r than 100 ' away from the proposed treatment area. Keep all heavy equipment off of the pro osed treatment area before and after construction. The treatment rea should be marked off before construction. This Design is no valid & the system will need to be relocated if failure to prot ct the areas proposed for On-Site Sewage Treatment occurs. With proper installation and maintenanc , this system should have no problem in treating septic effluent ffectively. Nothing other than gray water (laundry, showers , etc . ) human waste & toilet tissue should be disposed into the septic tanks . Garbage disposals are not recommended. Excessi e amounts of soaps , cleaning agents & chlorine agents may kill the b cteria needed to treat septic effluent. Additives are not rec mmended . Recommend to pump & clean your tank through the manhole b a certified pumper every year if you have 1 tank and every 2 yea s if you have two tanks . ; /_ . f even B. This system is designed for a Type l, thre bedroom home and in accordance with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agenc standards WPC 40 and local ordinances . The soils on this site are typical of SCS oils mapped - KkC - Kilkenny loam & Erin soils . A seasonally high wate table was located at 18 " & 24" , (mottling) . Due to the seasonally high wa er table, a pressurized mound system will need to be installed. The bot om of the rock bed must be lo- cated at least 3 ' above the seasonally hig water table. This site has a holding tank or tanks , whi h overflows to the surface. This tank or tanks must be abandoned, pump & fi 1 with soil . Two new tanks will need to be installed. The soils at a depth of 18 " have a percola ion rate averaging 8 . 2 min/inch and are adequate for treating septic efflu nt. A pumping chamber will need to be installe to lift the effluent to the mound system. The manifold and supply line pipe must hav back drainage to the pumping chamber . The distribution pipes shall hav their ends capped. Be sure the rock and sand fill material are clean. Th sod layer below the ent;.re mounded area must be turned over, just bre k up the sod, be sure no. to over work. The power supply and switches must be loca ed outside the manhole and pump- ing chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A warning device must be in- stalled with a light and sound device, thi is in case of a pump failure. (Mercury floats are a good method) . All neighboring wells are located more tha 100 ' away from the proposed treatment area and 50 ' away from the tanks Keep all heavy equipment off of the propos d treatment area before and after construction as much as possible. T e treatment area should be marked off before construction. With proper installation and maintenance, his system should have no prob- lem in treating septic effluent effectivel . It is recommended that the septic tanks be pumped every 2 years . Soil and Percolatio Tests Septic Systerre De ign . ^ SBS/ds Steven B.
