SYSTEM DESIGN
FOR JOHN HALLSON
OF LOT 2, BLOCK 1, HALLSON ESTATES

1. Percolation Rate, Type of System.
24.9 minutes per inch. Shallow Trench System.
2. Proposed Flow Rate.
3 bedrooms @ 150 G.P.D. = 450 G.P.D.
3. Soil Treatment Area Needed.
2.0 factor x 450 G.P.D. = 900 Sq. Ft. minimum.
4. Size and Number of Trenches.
3 trenches 3 feet wide and 100 feet long = 900 Sq. Ft. These trenches would
be about 1 foot deep in the natural soil and be spaced a minimum of 7.5 feet
apart center to center.
5. Drainfield Rock Needed.
33.3 cubic yards of rock is needed to have 6 inches under and 2 inches over
a 4 inch distribution pipe.
6. Septic Tanks.
Two septic tanks, of at least 1000 and 750 gallons are needed. In addition,
a third pumping tank and pump may be needed to reach the house depending on
the house elevation.
7. Additional Information.
All construction and materials n’ust adhere to the provisions of the City of
Orono. All grading and construction traffic must be kept from both the pri
mary and alternate drainfield sites.
