MN 55376 497-3566 STEVE SHIRMERS April 22, 1986 John Laurent Lot 8, Block 2 French Creek Orono, NN. This system Is designed for a Type 1, five bedroom home and in accordance with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency standards WPC 40 and local ordinances. The soils on this site are typical of SCS soils mapped - AnB - Anoka loamy fine sand. A seasonally high water table was located at 26", 30", 6 32", (mottling). The bottom of each trench must be located at least 3* above the seasonally high water table. Due to the high seasonally high water table, a pressurized mound system will need to be installed. The bottom of the rock bed must be located at least 3* above the seasonally high water table. The soils at a depth of 18" have a percolation rate averaging 15.3 min/inch and are adequate for treating septic effluent. A pumping chamber will need to be installed to lift the effluent to the mound system. The manifold and supply line pipe must have back drainage to the pumping chamber. The distribution pipes shall have their ends capped. Be sure the rock and sand fill material are clean. The sod layer below the entire mounded area must be turned over, just break up the sod, be sure not to over work. The power supply and switches must be located outside the manhole and pumping chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A warning device mist be installed with a light and sound device, this is in case of a pump failure. (Mercury floats are a good method). All neighboring wells are located more than 100* away from the proposed treatment area. Keep all heavy equipment off of the proposed treatment area before and after construction as much as possible. The treatment area should be marked off before construction. With proper installation and maintanance, this system should have no problem in treating septic effluent effectively. It is recommended that the septic tanks be pumped every 2 years. Soil and PorcoUition TobH Septic Syitem De$ign Steven B. MICHAEL, MN 55376 497 3566 !STEVE SHIRMERS March 10, 1986 Ned Dayton French Creek Orono, NN Lot 3^ Block 1 This site has been compacted from construction traffic from Lot 4, block 1. A mound system was proposed for this site. A soil boring was completed in the proposed treatment area showing sandy soil after a depth of 60". If the upper soils to a depth of 60" is removed, a standard system may be istalled. I feel that the original soil is too compacted to install a septic system. Lot 1, Block 2 A soil boring was completed west of the 970 contour (top of hill located on tree line) finding soil to be typical of the boring in site 1. Mottling is present at 60". A standard system may be used with the trenches 24" deep or less. A pumping chamber will need to be installed to. lift the effluent to the treatment area. I see no problem moving the system to this site. /Lot 8, Block 2 A soil boring was completed east of site #1, finding soils typical of the previous soil test. Hotting is present at 18" to 20". Be sure the sand below the rock bed (mound) is adequate to keep a 3' separation from the mottled layeV of soil, (seasonally high water table). I ^ see no problem mo^i^^the system to this site. ^77^^=^ L^ ^ O’ ; Steven B.
