MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, October 12, 2015 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />ROLL CALL <br />The Orono City Council met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor <br />Lili Tod McMillan, Council Members Jim Cornick, Jr., Lizz Levang, Aaron Printup, and Dennis Walsh. <br />Representing Staff were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, Finance Director Ron Olson, Community <br />Development Director Jeremy Barnhart, Senior Planner Michael Gaffron, City Planner Melanie Curtis, <br />Public Works Director/City Engineer Adam Edwards, City Attorney Soren Mattick, and Recorder Jackie <br />Young. <br />Mayor McMillan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Item Nos. 5, 7, 10, 11, 14, lb, and 17 were added to the Consent Agenda. Item No. 19, Spates Avenue <br />Access Agreement, was added to the Regular Council Agenda. <br />Printup moved, Walsh seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. VOTE: Ayes 5, <br />Nays 0. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />*2. REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 28, 2015 <br />Printup moved, Walsh seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono City Council meeting of <br />September 28, 2015, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />*3. CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION OF SEPTEMBER 28, 2015 <br />Printup moved, Walsh seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono City Council work session of <br />September 28, 2015, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />PRESENTATION <br />4. WESTONKA HISTORICAL SOCIETY <br />Liz Vandam, a volunteer with the Westonka Historical Society, provided the Council with an update on <br />the society's activities. Vandam stated this past year they hosted Kevin Sorbo, who played the role of <br />Hercules in the movie entitled Hercules. In addition, the society hosted Navarre night, which included the <br />launch of the book entitled Navarre. Other activities included the annual scavenger hunt for the <br />Grandview Middle School sixth graders, the Tonka Toy Company Retirees reunion, a history boat tour <br />and displays at The Depot in Wayzata, and history displays at the Gillespie Center. The Westonka <br />Historical Society was also featured in the Lake Minnetonka magazine. <br />Vandam stated they currently have some great exhibits going and that the Historical Society's museum is <br />now located in the Old Centennial Building in Mound. <br />McMillan asked what area of Orono they cover. <br />Page 1 of 37 <br />
