There are a number of site plans and surveys in the packet you provided which made review very confusing. In the end I focused my review on the site plan labeled 1- 230594MS Certificate 27JUN23 Update. Further I limited by review to the area lakeward of the house as I understand that to be the area of concern. 2. Comparing #1 and #7 (the Gronberg survey from 2022) it appears the general drainage pattern of the lake yard of the property above the retaining walls is similar although 962 contour is now further east. The proposed top elevation of the top retaining wall is shown at 961 where the original landscape border in the same location was shown at 960.2. This 9 inch difference seems inconsequential overall and could assist with overall draining plan. The top of all elevation on #1 is slightly differ from the wall profile in Item #3 and #8. They shows the proposed top of wall at 960.8 which would be a 7 in difference form the preconstruction existing elevation. 3. The proposed plan does depict a drainage pater for the lake yard above the retaining wall that will direct surface runoff to a catch basing and pipe. This is in keeping with the retaining wall engineers recommendations. This should provide the necessary protection of the slope and wall system as well as limit any surface runoff to neighboring properties. 4. Couple minor items- The site plan says the address is unassigned and the Owner is “City X”. It also says the field survey was completed on 1/10/22. Retaining’s wall Comments. (these are not intended to supersede the building officials review of the plans) 1. The retaining wall design engineers letter notes that the necessary wall repairs were completed. 2. The Engineers letter sates no soil analysis was completed. However some soil data was provided in separate documents. It would be good to have a comment from him on the sample test results to ensure they met the specifications of his design.
