Ihh 33 )ii
Sirj: "SVALUATION iSPOHT
FOR TSS FULL3RTON PROP ;RTY
ORONO, MINN^SuTA
\
1
1
9-ie-«o
On Septttnber 14# I9d0 two altos wero tested as alternative sites
for two existing homes and their present drainfield systems. Two per-
oolation holes were tested and one soil boring taken on each site,
Hie percolation holes were dug 6 inches in dlcuneter Md 3 feet in
depth. The soil borings were dug 6 inches in diameter to the 4 foot
depth and 3 inches in diameter to the 0 foot depth. All holes were dug
with bucket type hand augers.
Both sites yielded peroolation rates and water tabic depths suf-
rioient for standard drainfield systems. The holes on the north site
contained better soil at greater depths while the south site had bet
ter soil in the i4>per layers,
A pump and pumping tank will be required on the south site to
reach the drainfield area which is at a higher elevation. For the 2
bedroom house to be served 600 sq.ft, of trenches will be needed,
which could be two trenches 3 feet wide and 100 fetjt long. If possi
ble, the trenches should be located more in the area near hole 1
which is more pexneable, and at about a 3-4 fooc ueptn,
Ihe south area for the larger house was located in a clearing
half way to the lake and contained loamy and sandy loam soils at the
upper depths which is very good material for dralnflelds. Because
there is no problem in serving this area by gravity from the existing
tanks and better soil is at the top, these trenches should be kept
about 2 feet deep in thecnatural soil. Although the house la larger,
the drainfield will be based on a 5 bedroom house v/hioh would require
950 sq, ft. of trench area or about 4 trenches 3 feet wide and 00 feet
long.
The existing tanks on both hoTues should also be checked for suit
ability, If any additional information is needed, please contact me.
Sincerely,
?
E
?
‘.ii
P JRCOR, INC.
Kark S, Cronberg, f.
