LA24-000012, Robert Breon, 2700 Casco Point Road, Variances. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission is requested to review the Staff report, receive a presentation, and discuss and <br />approve the request for variances after discussing some aspects with the applicant. The proposal is to <br />replace the original home with a new home built onto an existing detached garage. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission discussed the item and asked questions of staff and the applicant, Robert <br />Breon, 2700 Casco Point Rd. <br /> <br />Chair Bollis opened the public hearing at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Luann Runkle, a neighbor; and Jeff Loehmann, 2710 Casco Point Rd. provided comments. <br /> <br />Chair Bollis closed the public hearing at 7:38 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioners called it a conservative approach to build onto an existing structure, noting the small size <br />of the lot. Hardcover and setback are being improved, though the building would be going higher. <br /> <br />Ressler moved, McCutcheon seconded, to approve LA24-000012, 2700 Casco Point Road, Variances <br />as applied. VOTE: Ayes: 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br />4.5. LA24-000013, City of Orono Text Amendment: Phase 2 of the City’s Recodification of City <br />Code <br /> <br />The Planning Commission is requested to review the Staff report, receive a presentation, and discuss and <br />approve the proposed text amendment which is part of the City’s overall recodification process. The last <br />time the City recodified was in 2003. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission discussed the item and asked questions of staff. <br /> <br />Chair Bollis opened the public hearing at 8:03 p.m. <br /> <br />There were no public comments. <br /> <br />Chair Bollis closed the public hearing at 8:03 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioners pointed out the recodification is for edits and clean-ups, not policy changes. Staff noted <br />they were withdrawing 17-1682 of the proposed text amendments at this time. <br /> <br />Ressler moved, McCutcheon seconded, to approve LA24-000013, City of Orono Text Amendment: <br />Phase 2 of the City’s Recodification of City Code with the exception of 17-1682. VOTE: Ayes: 4, <br />Nays 0. <br />
