V�HE�AS, the Luce Line Trail provi�ies a narsral, rural-type setting for trail
activities; and
, ,.� .,,,�.,�.,�,���S,�the trail-, with its current limestone su.rface,<is in harmony with tr,e�..
rural character of Orono; and
_:> ��.• � -:`�'�REAS, ,the Orono..Park. C'ommis�ion, Planning.Commissiom, and City
• Council are a11 strongly committed to preserving and enl�ancing the rural character of the city
and of the Luce Line Trail.
NOW, THEREFO�tE BE IT RE30LVED by the Orono City ��ouncil that the
Luce Line Trail remain with its current limestone surface to preserve its liatural, rura.l character,
and that this fonn of surface be retained as far west as Watertowr_.
Adopted by the City Council this 12th day of Pebruary, 1996. ..
