A RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF A FEASIBILITY REPORT
FOR THE INSTALLATION OF MUNICIPAL SEWER TO SERVE THE
NORTH LONG LAKE, LONG LAKE COUNTRY CLUB ADDITION,
BRACKETT'S POINT AND BAY RIDGE AREAS
WHEREAS, the City of Orono has identified certain neighborhoods where the
installation of sanitary sewer appears to be preferable to long term use of on-site sewage
treatrnent systems; and
WHEREAS, the City has made application to the Metropolitan Council for an
amendment of the Metropolitan Urban Service Area boundary to include these identi�ed
neighborhoods; and
• WHEREAS, Metropolitan Council approval of said MUSA. amendment is
anticipated within the near future; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that North Long Lake and Long
Lake Country Club Addition are the highest priority neighborhoods for construction of sanitary
sewer; and
WHEREAS,�additionally the Bracketts Point and Bay Ridge neighborhoods have
petitioned for municipal sewer; and � �
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has provided preliminary cost estimates for
construction of sanitary sewer for these four neighborhoods, however, additional information is
needed in order to establish the feasibility of such a project; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed to construct municipal sewer trunks and laterals to
serve the North Long Lake, Long Lake Country Club Addition, Bracketts Point and Bay Ridge
neighborhoods and to assess the benefitted property for all or a portion of the cost of the
improvements, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Orono,
Minnesota, that the proposed 'unprovements be referred to the City Engineer for study and that
he is instructed to report to the Council with all convenient speed advising the Council in a
preliminary way as to whether the proposed improvement is necessary, cost effective, and
feasible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other
improvement, and the estunated cost of the improvement as recommended.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono this 9th day of September,
