A RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF A
FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF
M[JNICIPAL WATER AND SEWER TO SERVE THE ORONO ICE ARENA
WIiEREAS, the Orono Ice Arena project requires the extension of both municipal water
and sewer service to the arena site, and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has provided preliminary cost estimates for the water and
sewer extensions however additional information is needed in order to establish the feasibility
of such a project, and
WHEREAS, it is proposed that municipal water and sewer trunks and/or laterals be
constructed to serve the Ice Arena site and that the benefitted property(s) be assessed for all or
• a portion of the cost of the improvements pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota
that the proposed improvements be referred to the City Engineer for study and that he is
instructed to report to the Council with all convenient speed advising the Council in a
preliminary way as to whether the proposed improvement is necessary, cost effective, and
feasible and whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other
improvement and the estimated cost of the improvement as recommended.
