RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL

A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION
WHEREAS,the city of Orono is authorized by Minn. Stat. 465.03 to accept donations of
property for the benefit of its people and is specifically authorized to accept gifts; and
WHEREAS, the acceptance of donations is subject to approval by a simple majority vote of the
City Council through formal resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City of Orono has established a Park Donation Program to allow individuals,
families, and organizations to support and improve the City's parks, trails, and open spaces for
the benefit of the community; and
WHEREAS, the City has received a donation from Orono Westonka Soccer Club in the amount
of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00) to assist with the purchase of new 9v9
soccer goals at Bederwood Park; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of this donation indicates the City's intent to use the funds to purchase
and install the soccer goals at the designated location in accordance with the Park Donation
Program guidelines; and
WHEREAS,the donation has been donated to Orono for the benefit of its residents; and
WHEREAS,the City Council finds that it is appropriate to accept the donation.
RESOLVED that the Orono City Council gratefully accepts the donation of$1,500 for soccer
goals.
FURTHER, the City will use the donated funds to purchase and install new soccer goals at
Bederwood Park and staff are authorized to take the necessary steps to complete the purchase
and installation.
Adopted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held on April 13, 2026.
