Td� INSTALLATION OF NO PARKING SIGNS
IN T� �t�GERNESS POINT NEIGI�BORHOOD
W�REAS, the City of Orono is a municipal organization under the laws of the
State of Minnesota; and
WI�EEREAS, a petition has been received from residents in this area documenting
problems associated with vehicle and boat trailer pazking. This parking is the result of overflow
from the North Arm and Maxwell Bay boat landings. Problems include safety of children in the
area, damage to lawns, trash, and noise from eazly in the morning until late in the evening; and
WI�R�AS, the street widths in this area range from 24 feet to less than 16 feet.
These street widths are substandard for on-street parking of numerous vehicles with trailers; and

WI�I2EAS, Antoinne Park is located adjacent to Fagerness Point Road and high
� volumes of traffic are not desirable in the vicinity of the park; and
WHEREAS, the County Roads and other City Streets in the vicinity of the North
Arm and Mu�well Bay boat landing areas are posted for No Parki.ng thus intensifying the parking
. problems in the Fagerness Point neighborhood.
. NOW, �HEREFO1tE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council does
- hereby authorize and direct the Orono Public Works Department to install No Parking signs for
"No Parking for Velucles with Trailers" along Fagerness Point Road, Corral Road, Webb Street
and Concordia Streef for the entire lengths of these streets and roads.
