City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 1.69 <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING <br />A VARIANCE TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.24, SUBDIVISION 5 (B) <br />FILE i1124 <br />WHEREAS, Jim 6 Ruthanne Lange (hereinafter "the applicants") are <br />the owners of the property located at 4150 Forest Lake Drive within the <br />City of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally described as follows: <br />Lot 4, Block 1, Forest Arms Country Club Addition, Hennepin County, <br />Minnesota (hereinafter "the property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City for a variance to <br />Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.24, Subdivision 5 (B) to permit the <br />construction of a single family residence on a lot of area 0.45 acre in the <br />LR-lB zoning district where lot area of 1.0 acres is normally required. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1124. <br />2. The property is located in the LR-lB Single Family Lakeshore <br />Residential Zoning District. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application on April <br />20, 1987, and recommended approval of the proposed variance based upon <br />the following findings: <br />A) The applicant also owns the adjacent Lot 5, Block 1, Forest <br />Arms Country Club Addition, upon which is the applicant's <br />existing residence. <br />B) The lot area of 0.45 acre within Lot 4 is consistent with the <br />15 other developed lots in the Forest Arms Country Club Addition, <br />and is consistent with lot area variances approved by the City in <br />the LR-lB zoning district in contemporary times. <br />C) The existing house on Lot 5 will remain with ).40 acres and <br />as such, meets all setback and hardcover requirements of the <br />City. <br />D) Lot 4 has been assessed for sewer and a stub is available. <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
