� A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
. � THE INSTALLATION OF SIGNS .
� PROHIBITING BOAT TRAILER PARKING �
IN THE BOHNS POINT NEIGHBORHOOD �
� WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal organization under the laws of the ,
State of Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, requests have been received from residents in this area for signs
prohibiting boat trailer pazking to address problems associated with vehicle and boat trailer parking.
This parking is the result of overflow from the Maxwell Bay boat landing. Problems include safety
of children in the area, damage to lawns,trash, and noise; and �
S - . WHEREAS,the street widths in this area are substandard for on-street parking of
numerous vehicles with trailers; and
VVIiEREAS,the County Roads and other City Streets in the vicinity of the North
Arm and Ma�cwell Bay boat landing areas are posted for No Parking thus intensifying the parking
problems in the Bohns Point neighborhood.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council does
hereby authorize and direct the Orono Public Works Department to install signs indicating "No
Parking for Vehicles with Trailers" along Bohns Point Road and Bohns Point Lane for the entire
lengths of these roads.
Approved by the Orono City Council at a regular Council meeting held on May 11,
1998.
