Consistent maintenance is important to the health and longevity of your septic system. Per Minnesota Rule
7080.2450, maintenance of your septic system must be done regularly, but no less than every three years.
Maintenance of your septic system includes a pumping of the septic tanks and while empty, a tank assessment to
ensure the tanks are not cracked or leaking.
Our records indicate your septic system at 1640 Fox Street was last maintained on 12/2/2022. This letter is a
reminder that your system is due for maintenance. A list of licensed maintainers who can perform the tank
pumping and assessment can be found on the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's website at
https//www.pca.state.mn.us/water/ssts-search. Once on the SSTS search page, add Hennepin County and click
Maintainer.
After your system has been maintained, the maintenance/pumping report must be sent to the City within 30 days
of service as required by Minnesota Rule 7083.0770 and City Code Section 58-73. If you feel you have received
this letter in error, please call your septic maintainer and have them send the maintenance/pumping report to
the City of Orono. Reports and questions may be sent to Planning Assistant Katie Fitzsimmons at
