City Council Chambers 12780 Kelley Parkway, Orono, MN 55356 <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Council members present: Mayor Bob Tunheim, Alisa Benson, Jacqueline Ricks, Jon Schwingler. <br /> Absent: Steve Persian. <br /> Staff present: City Administrator Adam Edwards, Police Chief Coffey Farniok, Community <br /> Development Director Laura Oakden, City Clerk Christine Lusian. <br /> LAKE MINNETONKA CONSERVATION DISTRICT UPDATES <br /> The City Council held a work session with LMCD representative Rich Anderson to review LMCD <br /> roles, current initiatives, and priority issues. Mr. Anderson explained LMCD's main purpose, which <br /> is responsibility for docks and on-water safety and identified implementing a watercraft rental <br /> licensing program as a key priority. <br /> LMCD expanded the quiet water buffer to 300-feet in 2023, added additional safety patrol presence <br /> through their"Red Carpet Safety"program, and installed solar-lit buoys. Discussion also included <br /> aquatic management topics like carp bow-fishing coordination(calendar, operating expectations, and <br /> cleanup responsibilities), LMCD's support of lake improvement districts (LIDs), as well as financial <br /> challenges at LMCD related to an added leadership position. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Work session ended at 5:57 p.m. <br /> ATTEST: CITY COUNCIL <br /> Christine Lusian, Clerk Bob Tunheim, Mayor <br />
