A RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF A
� FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF
� MUNICIPAL SArTITARY SEWER TO SERVE THE ' �
ORONO ORCHARDS AREA
WHEREAS,the project azea was included in the recent MUSA expansion for sanitary sewer
services, a neighborhood informational meeting was held to discuss the project, and project area
residents have submitted a letter indicating interest in obtaining sanitary sewer; and
WHEREAS,the City Engineer has provided preliminary cost estimates for a sanitary sewer
extension; however, additional information is needed in order to establish the feasibility of such a
project; and

WHEREAS, it is proposed that �municipal� sanitary sewer trunks and/or laterals be
constructed to serve the Orono Orchards area and that the benefitted properiy(s)be assessed for all
or a portion of the cost of the improvements pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of Orono,Minnesota that
the proposed improvements be refened to the City Engineer for study, and that he is instructed to
report to the Council with all convenient speed advising the Council in a preliminary way as to
whether the proposed improvement is necessary, cost effective, and feasible and whether it should
best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement and the estimated cost of
the improvement as recommended. .
