Purpose:
Conduct interviews for Park and Planning Commissioners
Item:
2. Background:
The Council will interview applicants for open Park and Planning Commission seats. Brief role
descriptions and schedule are provided below.
The Park Commission is a volunteer group that advises the City Council on parks and recreation.
Members review community needs for parks, trails, and recreational facilities and make
recommendations for improvements and future planning.
The Planning Commission is a volunteer group that advises the City Council on development and
land -use issues. Members hold public hearings, reviews land use applications and ordinance
changes, and make recommendations to the Council.

COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED
Council should provide direction to staff for appointments to the Park and Planning Commissions. A
resolution for appointments will be brought to a future Council meeting.
