. �.sgESKOg� OF PUBLIC SAFETY ACTIVITIES '
IN�HE COMMUNITY
• WHEREAS, Mike Byrnes,having been a charter member of the North Tonka Crime
Prevention Coalition since April of 1990, has served as Treasurer from its beginning; and
WHEREAS, Mike has taken an active role in working with crime prevention
through community awareness efforts; and
WHEREAS, the State Bank of Long Lake, through Mike, has provided donations
toward the Safety Camp for Children, National Night Out, and Neighborhood Crime Watch;
and
WHEREAS,Mike was instrumental in obtaining donations for the Orono Police to
make it possible to purchase several defibrillators for emergency treatment of heart attack
victims, "Stop Stix" (tire deflating spikes used in high speed pursuits), as well as of�icer
ballistic vests; and , _ p

WHEREAS, the Long Lake State Bank, through Mike, has provided financial �
assistance to the Orono Police Department to aid police officers in furthering their education; .
and �
WHEREAS, Mike has been a strong advocate for public safety within the
community and has been a great asset to the Orono Police Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono City Council does
hereby recognize Mike Byrnes for his support of public safety activities in the community,
and does hereby express its appreciation to Mike for his exemplary ei�orts in support of the
community and the Orono Police Department. _
Adopted by the City Council of Orono,Minnesota at a regular meeting held this 13th
day of September, 1999.
