The purpose <br />of the investigation.was-to .gather information to assist in the <br />evaluation of soil and ground water conditions relative to <br />foundation support. Four hand auger borings were conducted on <br />the site. Q(• · <br />The soil borings encountered a·. fine to coarse sand with much <br />gravel in all four holes. The material is very homogeneous below <br />the upper half-foot to one-foot layer of sod and topsoil. Ground <br />water was encountered at.1-1/2·foot to 2 feet below existing <br />grade across the site.. .· . · · · . "., · <br />The boring locations. are provided on the attached map. Two <br />bor~ngs were done on each of the proposed structures. The logs <br />of the borings indicating the soil types encountered are <br />enclosed. Soil conditions between borings may vary from our <br />observation. Soil identification was performed using ASTM D:2488 <br />(visual-manual procedure). A chart summarizing the <br />classification criteria is also enclosed. No. exploration program <br />can fully disclose all sub-surface conditions.
