A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT
� THE CITY OF ORONO WILL RETAIN JURISDICTION OVER
INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE TREATMENT SYSTEM(ISTS)REGULATION
WH��REAS, the City of Orono has adopted regulations for the design, location,
construction,use and maintenance of Individual Sewage Treatment Systems (ISTS); and
WI�REAS,the City of Orono has an established permitting and inspectionprogram
for ISTS management; and
WHEREAS,the City of Orono has adopted certain sections of MPCA Rules Chapter
7080 and is in the process of updating City codes to address recent Rule changes within Chapter
7080; and
• WHEREAS, Hennepin County has adopted ordinances regulating ISTS in those
areas of the County where local municipal jurisdiction of ISTS is lacking; and
WHEREAS,Hennepin County has requested formal indication from the City that
Orono intends to retain jurisdiction over ISTS within the corporate boundaries of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono,
Minnesota,that the City of Orono will retain responsibility for and jurisdiction over ISTS within the
corporate boundaries of the City, and will not abandon such jurisdiction unless at least one year
notice is given to the County.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono,Minnesota at a regular meeting held this
