A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE MCWD
TO CONDUCT A FEASIBILITY STUDY
REGARDING WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENTS
FOR STUBBS BAY AND MAXWELL BAY
. 1. � The City of Orono and the MCWD are both,committed to protecting the water quality of
Lake Minnetonka. • �
2. The City's surface water management plan identifies Stubbs Bay as a priority for water
quality improvements. �
3. Wat�r quality monitoring by Hennepin Parks shows a trend of a significant reduction in
water quality in Stubbs Bay and Maxwell Bay. �
4. The reduced water quality in Stubbs°Bay and Maxwell Bay has a regional scope and impact.

5. The MCWD is in the process of preparing a capital improvement plan to assist it in planning
' future spending for water quality improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council does
hereby request the MCWD to include in its capital improvement plan and 2001 budget a feasibility
study regarding water quality improvements for Stubbs Bay and Maxwell Bay.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting
held this 14th day of August, 2000.
