The placement of fill in the wetlands on the Schreck property will not appre-
ciably effect the water storage capacity of the pond. The overflow under the
lake access road along with the lake elevation will have a more significant
impact on the high water elevations.
The filling of any wetland is not allowed by city ordinance and it would ap-
pear that this case should not be an exception. The water quality of Lake
Minnetonka is dependent upon the wetlands for filtration and collection of
sediment prior to entering the lake.
The removal of the fill could be accomplished with a dragline as indicated by
the owner and we would recommend that this work be completed.
