Dear Mr. Zopfi:
I have been requested by the homeowner to submit a letter
outlining the status of the septic system at the above referenced
prope-ty. I would make the following comments:
1. During my inspection of the system on May 10, 1989, it
was determined that the first septic tank was lower than the
second tank, which was causing incorrect f low lines in the
system. It is not known whether this was a result of the
tank settling after its construction in 1977, or whether it
was originally constructed improperly.
2. On May 17, 1989, contractor Robert Volkenant corrected
the problem by adding a ring of block to the first tank and
repositioning all piping between the house and the
distribution box.
3. On May 31, 1989, I re -inspected the system after it had
been in use for approximately 2 weeks, and found that the
liquid levels in the tanks were correct. The system now
appears to be functioning correctly.
4. There is no evidence of current or past surface
di,tcharge from the drainfield. The system appears to be
fully functional and meets with City requirements.
