LA25-000048 <br /> WHEREAS, on October 22, 2025, Hoxie Homes& Remodeling, LLC. (hereinafter <br /> the"Applicant"), applied for a variance from the City Code for the property addressed 755 <br /> Tonkawa Road, Orono and legally described as: <br /> Parcel 1: All that part of Lot 1, Auditor's Subdivision Number 217, <br /> Hennepin County, Minnesota lying Northwesterly of a line drawn parallel with and <br /> 150 feet Southeasterly, measured at right angles from the Northwesterly line of <br /> said Lot 1; and <br /> Parcel 2: All that part of Lot 1, Auditor's Subdivision Number 217, <br /> Hennepin County, Minnesota lying Northwesterly of a line parallel with and 200 <br /> feet Southeasterly measured at right angles from the Northwesterly line of said <br /> Lot 1 and lying Southeasterly of a line drawn parallel with and 150 feet <br /> Southeasterly measured at right angles from the northwesterly line of said Lot 1; <br /> and <br /> Parcel 3: The Southeasterly 20 feet of Lot 11, Auditor's Subdivision <br /> Number 207, Hennepin County, Minnesota. (hereinafter the "Property"); <br /> WHEREAS, the Applicant has made application to the City of Orono for a <br /> variance from Orono Municipal Zoning Code Section 6.12.6240 for a 148-square-foot accessory <br /> building to be constructed 139 feet lakeward of the average lakeshore setback; and <br /> WHEREAS, on November 17, 2025, after published and mailed notice in <br /> accordance with Minnesota Statutes and the City Code, the Planning Commission held a public <br /> hearing, at which time all persons desiring to be heard concerning this application were given <br /> the opportunity to speak thereon; and <br /> WHEREAS, on November 17, 2025, the Planning Commission voted 7 to 0 in <br /> favor of a motion to recommend approval of the variance as recommended by staff; and <br /> WHEREAS, on December 8, 2025, the City Council reviewed the application and <br /> the recommendations of the Planning Commission and City staff; and <br />
