This exemption is to allow larger refuse collection vehicles to park safely off of County Highways for the purpose of transferring waste from smaller collection vehicles that service City Streets to the larger vehicles. An exemption to posted weight limits is allowed for utility company service vehicles namely Excel Energy, Wright-Hennepin Electric Cooperative, Reliant Energy, Qwest Telephone, Mediacom Cable or other companies providing utility service within the City when responding to an emergency.
