HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 987Resolution No. 987 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ORONO AUTHORIZING TAKING OF LAND BY EMINENT DOMAIN FOR PUBLIC RIGHT-OF- WAY FOR THE RING ROUTE PROJECT 79-1 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orono has ordered the preparation of a resolution authorizing taking of land by eminent domain and the City Engineer has recommended the acquisition of land for public right-of-way purposes at the locations hereinafter specified, and WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Orono that it is necessary that the city acquire such lands for a public purpose, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orono: 1. That it is hereby determined that the taking of each of the tracts and parcels of land set forth in paragraph 3 hereof is necessary for the public good in order that said tracks and parcels shall be devoted to public right-of-way. • 2. That the city shall take by right of eminent domain for public right-of-way purposes the lands described in para- graph 3 hereof, and the City Attorney be hereby authorized and directed to commence proceedings in the District Court of Hennepin County for appointment of commissioners to determine the damages, if any, sustained by the respective owners of the parcels affected by such taking, as authorized by law. 3. That the lands above referred to are more particu- larly described as per Exhibit A attached. This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono on January 23 1979, by a vote of 4 ayes and 0 nays. William B.
