The Contractor shall complete the Work pursuant to these Drawings and pursuant to all buildingcodes as adopted by local authorities having jurisdiction.C. As I understand it our current revised set will be reissued with today’s date (12-28-22), it will be signed/certified. The following is my response to the structural related questions from the letter/email from the building official, Nicole Egan, dated 12/16/22: · Requirement - Page 17 Engineer's letter is dated 9-14-22 and clearly states that the design has not been completed. The date on structural plans is 3-15-22 with no signature or stamp. Structural pages must be updated and all pages signed and stamped. The plans have been revised and will be signed and resubmitted as noted above. · Requirement - Tall wall framing at stairs requires engineered detail. The walls at the stair have been designed for the wind load, there are horizontally spanning beams that reduce the stud length to single story spans, so the studs are just ordinary stud framing. · Requirement - Concrete plank connection to house requires engineered detail. The concrete plank area has been omitted. · Requirement - Sill plate overhang requires engineered detail. The condition of the overhanging sill plate has been included in the structural design and the posts have been designed with the reduced bearing area as needed. 2 of 2 · Requirement - Provide braced wall plan. The lateral design for this house was done using the IBC with wind speeds and pressures as allowed by the exception in the IRC, see note in structural notes design codes section. The lateral system has been designed and all sheathing, holdowns, straps etc that are required are shown on the structural drawings, the “braced wall plan” is related to the IRC method only. · Requirement - A lower level framing plan must be included. All lower level areas are slabs on grade which are shown on the foundation plan, therefore there is no lower level framing plan. Please clarify if I have misinterpreted this requirement. I hereby certify that this design and letter was prepared by me or under my direct supervision and that I am a duly licensed professional engineer under the laws of the state of Minnesota.
