Resolution No. 909
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONCURRENT DETACHMENT
FROM THE CITY OF INDEPENDENCE AND ANNEXATION
INTO THE CITY OF ORONO OF A CERTAIN STRIP OF LAND
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Orono as follows:
1. The following described property is presently
located within the City of Independence and abuts upon the
City of Orono.
2. The City of Orono approves the concurrent
detachment of the following described property from the City
of Independence and its subsequent annexation to the City of
Orono and requests that the Minnesota Municipal Board approves
of the concurrent detachment and annexation as soon as possible.
3. The property which is subject to this concurrent
detachment and annexation is legally described as follows:
That part of the Southeast corner of Section 36, Township 118,
Range 24, Hennepin County, Minnesota described as follows:
Commencing at the Southeast corner of said section, thence
• westerly along the South boundary of said section 50 feet,
thence northerly on a line parallel to the easterly boundary
of said section a distance of 1,170 feet, thence easterly on a
line parallel to the southerly boundary of said section a dis-
tance of 50 feet, thence along the easterly boundary of said
section 1,170 more or less to the point of beginning, and
there terminating and as is shown on Exhibit A attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officers
are hereby authorized to execute any and all other agreements
which are necessary in order to effect the concurrent detach-
ment and annexation of the above described property.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono
on June 15 , 1978.
