Page 1 <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 3, 1985 <br />ATTENDANCE 7:90 PM The Orono City Council met on the above date <br />with the following members present: Mayor <br />Butler, Councilmembers Grabek, Tim Adams and <br />Frahm. Councilmember Lynn Adams was absent. <br />City Attorney Radio, Public works Coordinator <br />Gerhardson and City Clerk Hallin represented <br />the City Staff, City Administrator Benson was <br />absent. <br />OATH OP OFFICE City !'lerk Hallin administered the Oath of <br />Office to 7!avor Mary Butler and Councilmember <br />James Grabek. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />APPOINTMENTS Councilmember Grabek moved, Councilmember Tim <br />Adams seconded, to reappoint Ed Callahan, and <br />appoint Paul Taylor and Denny Pederson to the <br />Planning Commission for three year terms. <br />After much discussion regarding the policy of <br />rotation by Planning Commission members <br />Councilmember Tim Adams withdrew his second to <br />Councilmember Grabek's motion. All <br />Councllmembers agreed to remove the motion. <br />Councilmember Grabek moved, Mayor Butler <br />seconded to reappoint Ed Callahan to a three <br />year term and leave the other two positions <br />open for review by the Council at a future <br />meeting. Motion, Ayes (4), Bays (9). <br />Council requested a news item be placed in the <br />paper stating that the City is looking for <br />people who are interested in serving on <br />Commissions. <br />PARR COMMISSION <br />APPOINTMENTS <br />AND <br />HUMAN RIGHTS <br />COMMISSION Councilmember Grabek moved, Mayor Butler <br />seconded, to extend the terms of Virginia <br />Sweatt and Paul Taylor on the Park Commission <br />and to extend the terms of Donna Carltin and <br />Mary Rivers on the Human Rights Commission. <br />Erch appointment is for a three year term. <br />Motion, Ayes (4), Nays (S). <br />
